Not much to talk about this week except how much I love my pink coat. The weather went from the 70s to the 50s overnight, and I was FINALLY able to wear my pretty new coat to town on Sunday. And my pink mirrored aviators. Love them too, and between the coat and the sunnies, I'm about as content as I get with what I'm wearing.
So that, as they say, is that. I'm going to go put my pretty pink coat on and watch some television. I wonder how much the sunglasses will affect the screen color ....
Update (11/10): Goin' to Patti's Visible Monday ! Come with me!
And you do look infact pretty darn happy in this pic :) Lovely coat and I guess you can literally see things through rosecolored glasses.
ReplyDeleteAlex - Funky Jungle
I would be pretty happy in that coat too Jan, a great buy that no doubt get many outtings over the next few months.A definite star in your aviators, rose coloured or not.
ReplyDeleteI always knew you wore rose coloured glasses : )
ReplyDeleteLOVE this coat. WANT this coat. Where did you get it?
bisous
Suzanne
Yep, I echo Suzanne - where o where did you find that beeyootiful coat? It's stunning against your red hair, and is that a nubby tweed or boucle I spy? Do tell!
ReplyDeleteYou're not kidding, the coat makes me happy too! The quintessential find. I'd probably sleep with it too. And yes, Jan, you look perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh it's so pretty! I'd want to wear it all the time too. You look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful coat! And those boots are pretty hot, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous color for you! I love how feminine it is and how happy you look. :D
ReplyDeleteEighties pop-culture references have been popping up frequently in my reading and viewing lately, so I just have to say...Pretty in Pink!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great coat Jan!
Oh coats and boots and scarves and mittens. How I miss all that cozy stuff. It's going to be 84 - 90 degrees today. Augh! I can relate to the sunglasses however. I love the way they pick up the hue of that beautiful pink coat.
ReplyDeleteI can understand why you're as happy as Pharrell, that's a great coat! Such a soft and pretty colour, and a lovely cut. There's a song by Was Not Was called I Feel Better Than James Brown - that's what I aim for in an outfit! xxxx
ReplyDeleteI'm happy just looking at your coat! I also have a house without a roof on replay in my brain, but let's not go there :)
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of pink sunglasses and I personally think that if everyone had a pair of rose coloured lens, the world would be a happier place. I LOVE wearing mine! On a super gray day, the skies look quite cheery!
I really enjoyed your description....yard thug...hilarious, and totally fitting for my min poodle too! Alas, no real intent to adopt a four legged canine...at least not yet.
I can see you are Happy & Pink & Fabulous & those boots are to die for. Enjoy your Life!
ReplyDeleteI love pink coats for the winter and then I go and buy a gray one .. lol. Not sure what's wrong with me ..:-P
ReplyDeleteMonica, www.pear-shaped-gal.com
And now don't you just look cute as can be! Love the pants (those are so me) and you look smashing, darling, absolutely smashing in that coat.
ReplyDeletePretty coat made fabulous with the leather pants. Rock them hell on! xx
ReplyDeleteOh so perfect. I wish you had put on the glasses! Just for the effect. Leather trousers. I am so going to copy you, with my new leather jogging trousers and fuchsia coat. A little bit different from your outfit. To avoid people starting to call me copy cat.
ReplyDeletePretty in pink... Great with the b&w striped top. I can understand your contentment.
Greetje
OHHH so gorgeous!! I have never liked a pink coat better than this one and most especially with you in it.
ReplyDeletexoxo
I'm swooning over your pink coat! It's a beauty, and looks stunning on you. Your sunglasses are the perfect finishing touch!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alex! It isn't likely that anyone will ever see me on the blog wearing my sunnies, but I have a collection of them that I wear every time I get an excuse. These make me particularly good tempered, as you note!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jilly! I'm really head over heels about this piece of cloth. It will be worn to shreds by spring. I have to stop myself from putting it on to go out to the barn!
ReplyDeleteI got it at a boutique-ish store at the NW Arkansas Mall ... "Morgans" I think it was. The same day I didn't get the velvet blazer at Target. The universe sometimes works in my favor!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for liking it ... like my dog, everyone has to love it!
Thanks, Glenda, so much! I hadn't thought about sleeping in it ... I'm off now to take a nap!
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks! I'm thrilled you stopped by ... and happy I finally found your blog. Will note it on my side bar so I can keep track. They're not really boots, just leather booties that blend with the leather pants!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm pleased you like it ... it's hard not to reach for it every time I go out the door. Even to the barn. Probably not, huh? Not my nasty old barn, anway ...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Aya! I'm clearly thrilled with it and glad it shows!
ReplyDeleteAwwwh .... that's so sweet, Laurie. Loved that movie, wasn't sure about her dress, acutally, but, I wasn't sure about much in the 80s! Loved Ducky, though.
ReplyDeleteHey, Connie! Thanks for stopping by with such nice things to say. It's been there, hot but also humid (!!!) for us until just last week, and I remember winter-fashion envy growing up. The sunnies are pink gold framed with PINK mirrored lenses! Clearly pink overload, but I had to have them. Just had to. They don't even look great on me, but like a bad boyfriend, I love 'um somthin' fierce!
ReplyDeleteHa! I've felt as good as Was Not Was in a dress a time or two, but never felt that good in a coat! Glad you like it ... it feels soft and very light as well. I've had to keep myself from pulling it from the closet and wearing it at very inappropriate times. Will be in rags by spring, I expect!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Curtise ... glad to see you!
I thought of you, actually, the minute I tried it on! No kidding! Knew you'd be proud of me. It's easily the most positive item in my otherwise dim wardrobe!
ReplyDeletePoodle-boys are just such "guys", aren't they?
You'd make such a good dog-mom! Kitties need love, of course. Our Lucy just came back from a 24 hour unscheduled walkabout. We were frantic, but are now relieved.
Thank you, Netti! I smile every time I see your beachy avatar ... just where I'd like to be!
ReplyDeleteNothing is wrong with you. You just have great and classic taste. I'm as loud in my dress as I am with my jokes. Will be doing a gray-ish post soon with a coat you might like ... to prove I'm not always so perky.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shani! PLEASE don't forget to tell me how you like the book!
ReplyDeleteThought it needed a touch of badassery, and if you think I got it right, then I did. Much appreciated, Vix!
ReplyDeleteIt is likely you won't see me in sunnies on the blog ... I love them and have a decent collection of pretty good ones, but I don't look good in them. My nose (which you'll never see from the side, either) is too big and long for the ones that I like, and the ones that are supposed to flatter are not the ones I like. Does that make sense? Sometimes you gotta just wear what you love and not look too closely in the mirror.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind observations, Greetje. Don't worry about copy cat ... I copy you all the time! It's called "inspired by" and we all love it!
I'm guessing that you don't care for pink! Honestly, I've seen so few of them in real life, I just know I like this one ... it was a thrill to find it and be able to afford it! So nice to read your sweet comment, Always a pleasure to see you here, or anywhere!
ReplyDeleteYou'd look fabulous in a pink coat ... I can't believe you don't have one in adorable vintage perfection! So nice of you to say, Judith. I'm so happy to know you're back safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteThere is something about the right shade of pink on a redhead that is just TDF - and you, my friend, have found your proper pink! That color brings out the pink in your skin and makes you look so fresh-faced it isn't funny.
ReplyDeleteIt is just a bit too soon for it to be quite as cold as it's gotten up here. Remember when I bitched about the heat? I'm about to bitch about the cold ;-P

Lovable, lovable pink coat! I tink that every woman should have some pink in her closet! The colour is so nice on you! And, if I can see correctly, you are also wearing a beautiful pink lipstick....
ReplyDeleteMwahaha, you look so cool wearing your cute coat and funky sunnies!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous hairstyle indeed!
Besos
Sorry Jan, but you are fun and beautiful as you are. Period. Don't be ashamed of anything. It makes who you are and who we love. Have a read about noses and things on the blog of Catherine (Not Dressed as Lamb):

The pink coat is beautiful, absolutely love it.

I LOVE that pink on you Jan! It is amazing what just one coat can do. Takes the ordinary to extraordinary! Great look.

Thank you, Alicia! Much appreciated. You really can't see it clearly, but the coat fabric has a texture a lot like Pendleton blankets ... little tufts of minute shaggies. They are a tad peachier than the pink, subtle but effective for my red mop. I'm wearing it to work this evening, and am all perky just because I get to. It will be old hat one day, but not soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's coolish in the 60s here, but next week it's supposed to drop 20 degrees and give us our first freeze ... we need it 'cause I'm still pulling ticks off the dogs! Classy, right?
Just like getting old, living in this Gawdawful southern weather isn't for sissies, is it?
If I can just keep snow away from the weekend trade, I'll be dandy.
Bitch away, I'm with you!
Thank you, Dan! It is a loveable coat, isn't it! I've never worn it much, but am having a little crush on it this year. Yup ... pink lippy and all!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I love about my pink mirrored sunglasses ... they're just a little tacky, a little over the top. Glad you like my hair, so thank you for your nice comments, Senora. It's just getting where I want it. Like yours, longer on top, short in back!
ReplyDeleteOH SO PRETTY!!! I LOVE PINK! I have a pink coat too! It's such a happy colour!
ReplyDeleteYou are the pink of perfection and I mean that in the most beautiful way!!

You look fabulous!! I love pink, all day, every day.
ReplyDeleteSuper outfit that looks wonderful on you!
Have a great weekend!
Mimi, http://inmyprimetime.blogspot.com
I love that coat so much - and it looks fabulous on you. The whole outfit is perfect, right down to the sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, I love it! I wish I have room and/or need for more coats to have a pretty pink one like yours but sadly it would an overkill for my need. But that said, I just discovered that I don't have enough. I'm going to Amsterdam for a week and realised that I have nothing to wear for Amsterdam temperamental November weather - wet and very cold. I might just have to settle for my mountain coat as I do not have anything decent that is water proof and warm.. see, I do need a pink coat, right? I mean just in case... ;)
ReplyDeleteWill do!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty in pink... I need a pink coat, too! And a green one, and a red one, and... The winter is sooo long here, and you just gave me the perfect excuse to indulge my coat fantasies...
ReplyDeleteThis look is FABULOUS. Love how you paired the tough black boots with the elegant pink coat. Perfection.
ReplyDeleteYou look great!! You know, I don't think I've owned any clothing in the pink colors for years. But now you've got me thirsty for some!
ReplyDeleteI love this pink jacket! Looking great. Sara
ReplyDeleteOh, I did the Happy dance ... love it every time I put that coat on! Glad you like it. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It's the most fun I've ever had in a coat!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cherie! Coats have always been a treat for me ...they always mean I get to GO somewhere (yikes ... I sound like my dogs!) But it's true. Coats mean change in the weather, possible adventures, lots of good stuff. So happy you like my perky pink ... need to remember to keep it from going diabetic with styling it down!
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you Carmen! Of course you love pink! I can't read auras, but I'll bet yours has at least one rosy band most of the time! Just the physics of color and light make this coat a winner ... pink makes pale skin wonderful! Kind of you to say such nice things.
ReplyDeleteHi, Mimi! Oh, yes ... you are a pink kind of girl if every there was one! Thank you so much, and I hope you are feeling in the pink many more days now than not!
ReplyDeleteI had such a good time wearing that outfit. Happy me! Thank you, Lana, for your kind remarks, and for dropping by!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you have a fabulous time in Amsterdam! Are you going to see Greetje when you're there! Enjoy, enjoy! And yes ... get on-online and get a cozy-glam coat. You have such excellent taste that anything you buy will be classic and last for eternity! Thank you for liking my silly pink coat ... it's pushing the cute envelope pretty far even for me, but I figured I'm old enough to do what I want. So happy to hear from you, young lady. Travel safe and take tons of pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou'd look amazing in pink, Tiina! Winter only feels long here, and we had winter, then suddenly summer, then more summer and no fall to speak of. Now it's winter. But I'm enjoying wearing the substantial clothes that suit me best! So happy you stopped by, and thank you for your very nice remarks.
ReplyDeleteI don't often get a piece that I love as irrationally as this one. The girl who sold it to me couldn't resist rolling her eyes and curling a disdainful lip at my complete joy in finding it. Bugger her. Twice.
ReplyDeleteThank you ... so pleased you like it.
Joni! HI there! I'm on my way over to your blog this second. I will also put it up on my sidebar blogs before the day is out. I promise. Always so tickled when I hear from you.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had much pink in years, and this particular shade is fun ... it has a couple of shades in the weave. and almost peachy thread that makes the color work so hard for me. You must look amazing in pink ... all colors are your colors by definition!
Thank you, Sara ... it's one of the best things I've done for myself all year long!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the coat!!! You look so stylish! Perfection!
ReplyDeleteI haven't visited for a while (got busy with life :) - and here you go, I've just read three such amazing posts! You look GORGEOUS! This coat is just so perfect on you, Jan, and especially with black leather and these cool aviator glasses. Chic!!!
